I was thinking about how little space I need to live in. Or more like it, how much space I want to live in.
In this city, we are all smashed together. The sight of houses that touch each other is comforting. I think of my friends in their own neighborhoods, in their own small spaces.
They are not with me, but still they are close to me.

I have always loved towns you can walk around in. Odd, I know, for someone who lives in Texas and loves it and drives everywhere (I love driving too), but there is something about that “coziness” that is so reassuring.
